Special Projects
Special Project Funding is available to encourage projects that further the development of choral music in Saskatchewan or that promote and encourage participation in a choir. The maximum Special Project Funding awarded to a member choir per year will be 75% of the total cost of the project or $500. Funding is limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applications will be adjudicated at the Board meetings in September, January, and March. Applicants will be notified as soon as possible.

Application Procedure
Eligibility

Examples of possible projects eligible for special project funding are:
- Community choir workshops
- Adult choir workshops
- Joint community choir workshops/concerts
- Commission of a piece for a choir
- Weekend choir retreats involving professional development for choral conductors
- Music advocacy initiatives including special "Music Monday" activities
- Special one-time projects involving two or more schools
- If you have a great idea - contact the SCF to discuss it!
Examples of projects that are not eligible for special project funding are:
- Choir trips
- Equipment and uniform purchases
- Projects that realize a profit
- Projects that complete with SCF programs, services, or activities
Submission Guidelines
Applications will be accepted from SCF Members in good standing and must include the following:
- A completed application form signed that outlines the project's goals, expectations and anticipated revenue and expenses (for the project only). Other sources of funding should also be included in order to strengthen the application.

Applications are required a minimum of 30 days before the start of the project with deadlines September 1, January 1, and March 1.
Selection Process
Applications will be adjudicated at the Board meetings in September, January, and March. Applicants will be notified as soon as possible.
Adjudications will be based on:
- Completeness of the application
- Funds available
- Number of participants and groups involved
- Length of the project
- Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Please attach additional pages if you require more space on the form.
Disbursement of Funds
- Approved grants will be disbursed to cover a deficit up to the approved amount
- All special projects deemed eligible for funding will receive funding after the project upon submission of the Final Report and of the programs and promotion displaying the SCF and Sask Lotteries logos
- The Final Report and required materials must be completed and submitted to the SCF office within 60 days of the end of the project
- Reports cannot be accepted and no funding can be provided after June 30th.
- Special Projects that do not meet deadlines will not be eligible for funding, and/or will waive their right to receive outstanding funding disbursements.
Additional Information
- Successful applicants must maintain their SCF Membership for both the year in which the funding assistance application is submitted and the year in which funding assistance is approved.
- Successful applicants must acknowledge Sask Lotteries as the funder and in partnership with the Saskatchewan Choral Federation by using the respective logos on all printed materials or electronic media, etc.

- Applicants should attempt to schedule events on dates that do not conflict with other SCF-funded activities if possible.
