MAKE MUSIC HAPPEN!

Advocacy initiative from Sask Arts Alliance

Here we are one year into the pandemic and we still have a feeling of loss and uncertainty.  What lies on the horizon for the arts in the province but more importantly the art of singing in a group whether it be a choir, barbershop chorus or jazz ensemble of which you play a part.  The answer to the question - unfortunately, we do not know!  That being said, the work continues on to ensure that the arts are not forgotten about.

Under an initiative from the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance, join the letter writing campaign.   There are two options for the letter writing.  Follow the links below to find some ideas of what you can include in your letter.
  • Call to Action for individuals and families to let elected officials know the arts (and specifically singing in choirs, choruses and ensembles) are important.
  • Call to Action for arts organizations (this could be your choir/chorus/jazz ensemble) to let officials know how important their group is to the community and those that participate with them

They haven’t provided a specific template/form letter but general ideas to assist you in writing your letters in your words with your own experiences.  These are both attached with specific info added pertaining to choirs and singing.  Please share this with those in your communities willing to write a letter to support the arts and tell their story why music/singing is important to their children, to themselves and others.
