Golden Note Award
The Golden Note Award recognizes the contribution of individuals  to the cultural life of Saskatchewan by their long-time (25+ years) active participation in the choral arts.  There are two award categories:  Singer or Choral Conductor.  A maximum of 5 awards in each category will be presented.  If you know of individuals who have conducted or sung in choirs for a minimum of twenty-five years, then please nominate them for the Golden Note Award.   Nominators must be either a member choir or an individual member in good standing with the Saskatchewan Choral Federation.

Nomination Procedure

Eligibility
  • Anyone involved in singing with, or directing, a choir for a minimum of 25 years may be nominated for this award.
  • Nominees must presently reside in Saskatchewan.
  • No posthumous awards will be made.

Submission Guidelines
Nominations will be accepted from SCF Members in good standing and must include the following:
  • A completed nomination form.
  • A brief biography of the nominee (no more than 1 page).  The biography should include education, musical background (including singing or choral conducting), affiliation with agencies or groups, noteworthy achievements, hobbies and interests.
  • A description (no more than 3 pages) of the reasons why you feel this person deserves to be recognized.
  • One letter of support (from a person other than the nominator) confirming the significance of the nominee's contributions to choral music in their community.

Nomination Deadline
The nomination deadline is by 4:30 pm on September 18th, 2020.

Selection Process
The Recognition Committee (a sub-committee of the Nominations Committee of the SCF Board of Directors) will select the award recipients from the list of candidates nominated each year.

Notification
The SCF will notify successful award recipients and all nominators of the status of their nominee.

Awards Presentation
Awards are announced at the Annual General Meeting held each fall.  Presentation of the award will be arranged with the recipient to be held at a concert or event in their home community (wherever possible) to allow family and friends to join in celebrating and honouring the recipient.
