Nova Voce Scholarship 

The Nova Voce Scholarship recognizes an individual in the early stages of choral conducting development who has the potential to make a significant contribution to choral music throughout the life of their career.

The scholarship consists of a cash award of $250.  A maximum of one award may be presented annually to a member of the Saskatchewan Choral Federation who is under the age of 30 (as of December 31st).  The award will be announced at the SCF Annual General Meeting and presented at an SCF event or where possible, at a concert or event in the recipients community allowing family and friends to celebrate the recognition.

Application Procedure

The application process will consist of a submission of information through an application form.

Eligibility
  • Any individual who is under the age of 30 (as of December 31st) in the early state of a choral conducting career is eligible to apply.
  • Be currently directing a choir in their community, church or school
  • Must be a resident of Saskatchewan
  • Must be a member of Saskatchewan Choral Federation

Submission Guidelines

Applications will be accepted from SCF Members in good standing and must include the following:
  • A completed application form
  • A brief biography (no more than 1 page).  The biography should include the applicant's education, musical background (including singing or choral conducting), affiliation with agencies or groups, noteworthy achievements, hobbies and interests.
  • One letter from the applicant outlining their accomplishments to date and their future choral conducting plans (no more than 2 pages).
  • One letter of support, from an unrelated person, other than the applicant, confirming the significance of the applicant's accomplishments to date (no more than 2 pages).

Application Deadline

The nomination deadline is
 annually on August 31st.

Selection Process

Materials from the applicants will be adjudicated by the Nominations Committee to select the award recipient.  The successful recipients will be notified in early October.
