Board of Directors and Award Winner Announcements

At the SCF Annual General Meeting on Saturday, October 17th, 2020 the following were elected to the Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 year - new to the Board, Marley Duckett, Saskatoon; Bryn Frape, Saskatoon; Deborah Nelson, Regina; Cynthia Peyson Wahl, Regina and incumbent Bob Nicholls, Regina.  They will be joining James Hawn, Saskatoon; Joshua Hendricksen, Regina and Kelsey Kuz, Regina. 

Also, at the AGM the Awards and Recognition recipients for the 2020-2021 year were announced. The winner for the Outstanding Administrator Award which is presented to a school administrator who has made a significant different in music education in Saskatchewan by developing and supporting choral music within their school is Dr. Mark Anderson, Luther College High School, Regina.

The Community Service Award  recognizes the contribution of an individual or group to the cultural life of Sasktchewan through involvement in the development of choral music in their community.  The recipient for this year is  Corinne Groff, Regina.

The Golden Note Award 
recognizes the contributions of individuals (directors and singers) to the cultural life of Saskatcheawn by their long-time (25+ years) active participation in the choral arts.  This year's recipients include Phoebe Voigts, Director of Saskatoon Children's Choir, Saskatoon; and three singers, Judy Fawell, Monique Lovatt and Sandra Pfeifer, all of the Regina Ladies Choir, Regina.

Congratulations to all the winners!  Presentations will be made to each of the recipients at a time that those that can celebrate in these awards with the winners can participate.   Due to the restrictions with COVID-19 we are working to determine how that will best work at this time!
