Microgrant - Music Purchase

Microgrant for the purchase of music

Microgrant funding is available to support member choirs in purchasing new music by Canadian or Indigenous composers for upcoming programming, to a maximum of $150 per organization. Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis during the application period of April 15 to June 25, 2026. 

To receive funding, applicants must submit proof of purchase (paid inivoice) dated within the eligibility period. All invoices must be received no later than June 28, 2026. Applicants will be notified of the status of their application within two business days of submitting their application.


Application Procedure

Eligibility
  • The applying organizaiton must be a member choir in good standing with the Saskatchewan Choral Federation.
  • Funding is available only for new music purchases. Retroactive funding will not be accepted.
  • Eligible purchases must be supported by a paid invoice dated after the application approval date and no later than June 25th, 2026.
  • Priority will be given to purchases by Canadian and Indigenous composers. 
  • Funding is for the purchase of music only and does not include shipping or other fees related to the purchase of the music.

Submission Guidelines
Applications must be submitted via the SCF Google online form between April 15 and June 25, 2026, and include the following information:
  • Choir/organization name
  • Contact person including email address, phone number, and mailing address.
  • Music details including Title, Composer &/or arranger, Voicing, Publisher, Cost per copy, number of copies required, and estimated total cost.
  • Optional information: intended performance date/season, choir size (approximate)

Application Deadline
Applications will be accepted from April 15, 2026 to June 25, 2026.

Selection Process

Applications will be assessed based on:
  1. Completeness of the application.
  2. Availability of funds (first-come, first-served).
  3. Limit of one application per organization; one application may include more than one music title within the $150 grant amount.
Applicants will be notified within two business days of submitting a complete application.


Disbursement of Funds 

  • The maximum microgrant amount is $150 per choir/organization.
  • Approved applicants will receive funds upon submission of a copy of a paid invoice clearly listing the music purchased, which must be the same as the music outlined on the application.
  • Invoices must be dated after the application approval date and received no later than June 28, 2026. 


Additional Information
  •  Recipients must acknowledge Sask Lotteries as the funder and in partnership with the Saskatchewan Choral Federation by including their logos on concert programs and/or electronic media where the music is listed.
