Membership

1.  Individual Membership - Open to all persons actively engaged in any facet of choral music.

Privileges include:

May vote at general and special meetings

May hold office in the Federation

May borrow multiple copies of music scores from the Federation

(currently set at three copies of five different scores per season)

May borrow Federation equipment including risers, sound shell, microphones, recorders, etc. (with deposit)

May receive invitations to special Federation events

May receive reduced fees to attend Federation workshops and events (when available)

May receive all public Federation correspondence (Bulletin, E-Notes, Member Updates)

 

2.    Choir Membership - Open to any choir. The choir shall appoint one representative who shall receive and send correspondence on behalf of the choir, and who shall enjoy all Individual membership privileges on behalf of the choir. 

The Choir Representative shall be required to provide the Federation a list of its member-singers who shall then be registered as associate members of the Federation.

A choir may borrow enough copies for their registered member-singers plus conductor and accompanist(s) of 10 different scores per season.  Scores may not be shared with other choirs.

A choir is eligible to apply for a 'Workshop by Request' grant to assist in offering workshops to meet the specific artistic development requirements of the choir.  This program is currently under review and may be changed at any time.

 

3.    Student Membership - Open to students in any educational institution.

     Privileges include:

May vote at general and special meetings

May hold office in the Federation

May borrow multiple copies of music scores from the Federation

4.    Supporting Membership - Open to any person or organization who subscribes to and supports the objectives of the Federation, but who is not actively engaged in choral music.

     Privileges include:

May observe, but not vote, at general and special meetings

May receive invitations to special Federation events

May receive reduced fees to attend Federation workshops and events (when available)

May request to receive all public Federation correspondence (Bulletin, E-Notes, Member Updates)

May not hold office in the Federation

 

5.   Associate Membership - Open to any person who is a member of a choir that holds a membership in the Federation.   There will be no separate membership fee from that paid by the choir for this membership category.

     Privileges include:

May observe, but not vote, at general and special meetings

May receive invitations to special Federation events

May receive reduced fees to attend Federation workshops and events (when available)

May request to receive all public Federation correspondence (Bulletin, E-Notes, Member Updates)

May not hold office in the Federation

Associate membership status will not be granted until a list of singers has been provided by the member choir.

 

6.   Honourary - Honorary membership shall be proposed after unanimous vote of the Board of Directors  and ratified at an annual meeting.   There is no membership fee.

     Privileges include:

Recognition by the Federation

May observe, but not vote, at general and special meetings

May receive invitations to special Federation events

May receive reduced fees to attend Federation workshops and events (when available)

May request to receive all public Federation correspondence (Bulletin, E-Notes, Member Updates)

 May not hold office in the Federation
