Junior Division Choral Conductor Required by Juventus Choir Inc.

Print this Article   |   Back To Top

JUVENTUS CHOIR INC. is seeking a conductor for its junior division starting in the fall of 2011.

The junior choir is regarded as a beginning choral experience for boys and girls aged 6 through 10, and as a training ground for those children interested in moving at an appropriate time to the next level, the intermediate choir. The choir seeks to foster a love of music and singing, develop healthy young singing voices, build musicianship, teamwork and discipline, and create a safe and supportive atmosphere where friendships can take root and flourish.

A healthy singing voice and good general musicianship are essential tools for the position. Desirable extras would be having passed a university class in choral or instrumental conducting, experience with conducting a choir, and rapport with young children.

Junior choir rehearsals are scheduled for Fridays 6.00-7.00 pm, and a pianist will be available to play for rehearsals. Performance fixtures are the Rotary Carol Festival, the Juventus Christmas and Spring Concerts, the Juventus Munch 'n' Mingle fundraising banquet, and the Regina Music Festival choral competitions.

The junior choir conductor is responsible to the Music Director and the Board of Directors, and good communications with them are important. Fees would be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
