IPA?  What’s That?
The International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is a widely used system which associates symbols with phonetic sounds to facilitate understanding of the pronunciation of various languages.  As a standard used by college and university voice programs, IPA has particular relevance in the choral rehearsal and independent studio.  This session will talk about the use of IPA in various settings as well as introduce a wide variety of print and online resources for the choral and voice professional.

Teaching Voice in the 21st Century
What is ahead for the voice community?  New technologies, advances in voice research and treatment, information overload, what’s a voice teacher to do?   How do you wade through the massive amounts of information available about the voice.  If it has been awhile since that first voice pedagogy class how can you update your skills with current knowledge?  Join us as we discuss the future of the voice profession its critical position in the music industry.
