Music For The Sole Regina
On Sunday, June 1 runners, musicians and volunteers gathered at the Riddell Centre, University of Regina, to take part in Regina’s second annual Music for the Sole fundraiser walk/run. The event is designed to benefit choirs and music programming in Saskatchewan while encouraging an active lifestyle, where participants collected pledges to support their involvement in their choice of a 5 km walk, run or a 10 km run on the University of Regina campus and the east side of Wascana Lake. A reception was held afterwards which featured the Winston Knoll Saxophone Quartet, Katia and Wendel Georgeson, Harmony 2 Go, as well as the Klyne Brothers with “Cactus Jack” Dublanica and Amber Fyfe.

Proudly brought to you by the Saskatchewan Choral Federation in partnership with the Running Room and the University of Regina Fine Arts Department, a small but mighty crew of 25 volunteers and performers and 35 participants who raised nearly $2100.00 for 3 choirs. We would like to congratulate the Swift Current Oratorio Choir, Prairie Spirit, and Regina Christian School Elementary Choir who will be receiving grants for funds raised. We would like to thank the Running Room and the University of Regina Fine Arts Department for their partnering support, Jeff “Redbeard” Corbett of CJTR Regina Community Radio, Amanda Walsh, and all of our volunteers, musicians, and participants for helping to make this a great event!
