Applications are being accepted for Saskatchewan Youth Choir 2015

Saskatchewan Youth Choir is an exciting opportunity for talented young Saskatchewan ages 15 – 18 (exceptions may be made for younger male singers with mature voices) to sing together under the direction of a renowned Canadian choral conductor. This provincial choir program will give students the opportunity to sing in an SATB balanced choir with the best of the best from across Saskatchewan. It will develop singers ready to participate in premier local and national choirs.

Size: 24 – 36 singers

Dates: October 2015 – February 2016

Students must be prepared to commit to the following (all dates yet to be announced):

  1. Weekend Retreat - October 2015
  2. November 5-7: Weekend Retreat (Honour Groups participation)
  3. Weekend Retreat - December 2015
  4. Weekend Retreat - January 2016
  5. Weekend Tour & Concert - February 2016

The Saskatchewan Youth Choir will be a feature choir at Optimist ChorFest Saskatchewan occurring in February 2016

Cost: $700 - $850 – To be confirmed (Includes 9 days of choral workshops, travel subsidy, accommodations, meals, and Honour Groups registration)

Students may be recommended by their teacher or can apply on their own.  To apply for an audition, please send an email to with the following information:

  1. Audition Materials

Once a student has applied or been recommended by their teacher, the student will be sent a link to the online Chorister Questionnaire as well as the benchmark music piece for their audition.  All audition materials must be received before 5:00PM on Monday, June 22, 2015.

  1. Results

Successful applicants will be notified by July 17, 2015.
