Junior Glee Camp is a summer music camp offered by the Saskatchewan Choral Federation in partnership with local community organizations committed to engaging young people. The four-day camp is held in a neighbourhood location for easy access and is for campers who have completed grade 3 to grade 8. Throughout the week campers sing together, learn new instruments and experience a variety of other arts activities.
No musical experience is required. Campers work with different clinicians and begin learning the basics of each component/activity. They continue learning throughout the week and enjoy recreational activities such as arts & crafts, an explorer’s trip and being part of a talent show. A final concert and reception for family, friends, sponsors and partners are held on the last day at a care home or community centre to showcase what the campers have learned. The intent of the camp is to develop long-term interest and involvement in music appreciation, awareness, and enjoyment.
